Alberta
The Screen-Based Production Grant supports the creation of film and television production in Alberta. This improved grant replaces the previous Alberta Production Grant. It offers up to 30 per cent of eligible production expenditures made in Alberta as well as a potential increase in the $5 million per-project cap of up to $7.5 million in funding per project.
Our funding programs provide support to artists and arts organizations, giving them the power to inspire minds, encourage expression, foster creativity and help diversify Alberta’s economy.
Colombie-Britannique
The British Columbia Arts Council nurtures and supports arts and cultural activity in communities across British Columbia. From community arts in rural and urban centres, to individual artists, professional performing arts companies, art galleries, local museums and music festivals – the Council supports a range of activities while engaging with Indigenous artists and communities to inform policies and programs.

The Manitoba Film & Sound Recording Development Corporation (Manitoba Film & Music) is a statutory corporation of government proclaimed under the Manitoba Film and Sound Recording Development Corporation Act funded by the Province of Manitoba through the Department of Sport, Culture and Heritage. We exist so Manitoba’s film and music industries flourish!
With a focus on artistic excellence and community impact, the Winnipeg Arts Council supports opportunities for the people of Winnipeg to engage with the arts as artists and as audiences. Responding to evolving practices and the needs of Winnipeg’s diverse artistic community, WAC invested $3,873,310 in 2017 into the thriving Winnipeg arts scene through our diverse and peer-assessed grant programs.
Nouveau-Brunswick
The New Brunswick Arts Board is an arm’s length arts funding agency with a legislated mandate to facilitate and promote the creation of art as well as administering funding programs for professional artists in the province.
Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation has allocated funding to support community projects and amateur arts and/or heritage activity that present local artists, artisans and/or performers of local historical heritage. The purpose of this fund is to engage citizens in their communities through the arts, as well as through the expression, celebration and preservation of local historical heritage.
The Professional Project Grants Program (PPGP) is available to Individual Professional Artists, Collaborations of Individual Professional Artists, and Professional Arts Groups. This program supports the creation and/or presentation of works of art in the disciplines of dance, film, music, multidisciplinary arts, theatre, visual arts, or writing. Grants support project costs related to creation, production, administration, travel, professional development, etc.
Territoires du Nord-Ouest
The NWT Arts Program is a marketing initiative that represents all artists of the Northwest Territories (NWT), including traditional arts and fine crafts, contemporary arts and fine crafts, performing arts, literary arts, and film and media arts. Administered by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment, Government of the Northwest Territories, the Program helps connect you with registered artists and the story of their art.
The NWT Arts Council was established August 1985, as an advisory board to the GNWT. The mandate of the NWT Arts Council is to promote the arts in the Northwest Territories.
The Arts Council provides recommendations to the Minister of Education, Culture and Employment on financial awards for creative artistic projects in the visual, literary, media and performing arts, and on issues and policies associated with the arts and artists.
Nouvelle-Écosse
The Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council is an advisory body to the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage and works to elevate the artistic and cultural vibrancy of the province for all Nova Scotians.
Nunavut
The Culture and Heritage Division is responsible for documenting, researching, promoting, and preserving the culture and heritage of the NWT.
The programs and services provided by the division range from museum-based operations to the administration of archaeological research and protection, funding for arts and culture programs, and curating the NWT Archives.
The Department of Culture and Heritage provides grant and contribution funding to non-profit, community-based organizations, individuals, and municipal corporations who direct their efforts to the promotion, protection and preservation of Nunavut’s culture and heritage, official languages, and activities that support elders and youth.
Since its foundation in 1998, the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association (NACA) has worked to benefit Nunavut artists. NACA is a non-profit incorporated society that supports and promotes the development and growth of Nunavut’s arts and crafts community through advocacy, communications, artist development, education and marketing.
Ontario
The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) provides grants to Ontario-based individual artists and arts professionals, ad hoc groups/collectives and organizations. Grants support a range of arts activities and disciplines.
Toronto Arts Council is the City of Toronto’s funding body for artists and arts organizations in Toronto.
Île-du-Prince-Édouard
The Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts (PEICA) has been providing vital support to the arts on Prince Edward Island since 1974. Dedicated to ensuring that all Prince Edward Islanders enjoy the benefits of a healthy arts community, the PEICA works to foster the development of the arts through advocacy, education, programs and services.
Québec
Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) supports, throughout Québec, creation, experimentation, production and dissemination in the realms of the visual arts, the arts and crafts, literature, the performing arts, the multidisciplinary arts, cinema and video, the digital arts and architectural research.
Saskatchewan
Established in 1948, the Saskatchewan Arts Board is the oldest public arts funder in North America, and second oldest in the world after the Arts Council of Great Britain. Governed by The Arts Board Act, 1997, we provide grants, programs, and services to individuals and groups whose activities have an impact on the arts in Saskatchewan and ensure that opportunities exist for Saskatchewan residents to experience all art forms.
The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is a non-profit artist-run centre which supports and assists independent visionary film and video production in Saskatchewan. The Filmpool is committed to developing an awareness and appreciation of independent film which reflects the individual and collective cultural expression of Saskatchewan people.
Yukon
The YAC is proud to champion and promote artists and their stories in our community. We are honoured to be located on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council.

Since 1986, the national funding organization Harold Greenberg Fund supports the development of Canadian dramatic feature films.

The Canadian Independent Film & Video Fund (CIFVF) is a dynamic private sector funding body which supports non-theatrical film, videos and new media projects created by Canadian independent producers to enable lifelong learning.
The Canada Media Fund (CMF) fosters, promotes, develops and finances the production of Canadian content and relevant applications for all audiovisual media platforms.

Promoting inclusion in the documentary space, the Funds foster storytelling from within groups whose perspectives have been historically underrepresented.
The Fund will provide 3 DGC Ontario Full Members in Good Standing in any category with a cash grant of $30,000 each to be used toward the completion of a live-action short narrative film. Submissions are now open.
The Fund was established in 1991 by Maclean Hunter Limited with capital endowments of $29.2 million and has since become independent of any parent company. The annual revenues generated by the endowment and recoupment on investments constitute the funds at the Board’s disposal each year for the Web Drama Program. The Fund is “certified” by the CRTC as an independent production fund, eligible to receive BDU (Broadcast Distribution Undertaking) contributions.
Founded in 1999, the Quebecor Fund’s mission is to support the development, production, marketing and exportation of high-quality content, as well as its distribution on various platforms.

The Shaw Rocket Fund is a permanent, independently governed, not-for-profit corporation that provides equity financing for the production of high-quality Canadian children’s, youth and family programming and industry initiatives.
Through the Canada Feature Film Fund, Telefilm Canada supports all stages of a feature film, from development, to production and post-production, to marketing to audiences both at home and abroad.
