Jean-François Desmarais O’Bomsawin is a member of the Abenaki community of Odanak in Quebec. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Communications from the University of Ottawa. Jean-François worked at APTN for over a decade. As Manager of Original Programming for eight years, he selected and oversaw many popular series including: Mohawk Girls, Anaana’s Tent and Spirit Talker. His great knowledge of the industry assisted him well as a Senior Programming Manager and he participated in the development of the On-Screen Protocols & Pathways. He is also a traditional dancer and singer.
