Kerry Sugiyama is a proud member of the Tsimshian and Haida Nations from the Pacific North Coast of British Columbia. Her commitment to support Indigenous storytellers is undeniable with over 17 years of experience in the broadcasting industry. As part of APTN’s Programming Executive team for over a decade, she contributed greatly to the development of Indigenous talent in television and film across Canada and created solid business relationships. Kerry is the first Indigenous board member of the Whistler Film Festival. She offers her experiences to Indigenous screen based storytellers and closely assists them to present their work internationally. Kerry loves spending time with her 5 grandchildren and shares the tradition of cedar weaving with her family.
